Clarins Splendours Colour Quartet & Liner Eye Palette

I haven’t been keeping up with my beauty posts and have a whole load of reviews and posts waiting in line. Beauty posts take just a tad more effort with the photo taking, cropping and all but here is one that has been sitting in the drafts long enough!

I get really excited when I try out a brand I haven’t tried before. Clarins is a brand that needs no introduction and I was lucky enough to get to try out the very gorgeous Clarins Splendours Colour Quartet & Liner Eye Palette.

Love the gorgeous sundial design on the case and patterns on the shadows themselves. It was hard for me to start using them, lest I wreck the gorgeous patterns! The case itself is brown and gold toned with gold toned applicators which all look really luxurious.

This palette comes with 4 shimmering shades: a copper gold, pale ‘beige’ gold, pink gold and plummy brown shade {which can also be used as a liner}. The other vertical shadow is a eye liner shade which is a very dark chocolate-brown black shade {how is that for a colour description lol} I have to say it is an amazing combination of colours. I love playing with gold tone colours yet it can sometimes be hard to balance the look out when it looks too sparkly and over the top. This palette has just the right combination to tone that down with a very sultry touch of unique plums and pinks.

These shadows are also “highly concentrated in mineral pigments” and “deliver long lasting results” which I have to agree with.

This palette also comes with a pointed sponge applicator with an angled brush on the other end as well as another sponge applicator. The pointed sponge applicator is great for applying the liner shade around the lash line.

I really love the combination of shadows in this palette. These shades are just beautiful and really brought out my brown eyes and are great for both a day time and night time look. Every shade is lovely to work with – minimal fall out, great colour pay off, blends easily – though I did find the liner shade a little difficult to pick up. A wet brush/applicator did the trick for me though and it did manage to last till the evening when I removed it.

I wonder why I have never paid much attention to the Clarins make up range because this palette has certainly been a good introduction and has caught my attention now. There are a bunch of other summer make up range from Clarins that I will be keeping an eye out for.

RRP: $68

*I received this Clarins Splendours Colour Quartet and Liner Palette for review. However my opinions are genuine and uninfluenced.
