Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks – Swatches & Review

(Last Updated On: December 12, 2018)
About a couple of months back, Rimmel launched its new and improved Moisture Renew Lipstick with a total of 13 beautiful shades in an upgraded formula that promises to “look bright, clean and intense from the very first stroke”. These shades are so vibrant and I can tell you, I did jump up and down when I was so super lucky to get the entire range to swatch for you guys!! A whole box of Rimmel lipstick goodness – yes plzzzz
Without further ado, I bring you… my indulgence in admiring, swatching, wiping, re-swatching, photographing ! {All the while trying to swat away curious toddler hands attempting to make colourful crayons out of these babies}

More About The Range

As you can see, the range has a fabulous variety of pinks, plums, fuchsias, reds, beiges and even a gorgeous coral. The creamy texture is so consistent throughout the entire range and they swatched so beautifully and evenly. I have to mention that I didn’t enjoy Fancy (210) as much unfortunately – the pigmentation wasn’t as intense as compared to the rest in the range and {noting that I do have unevenly pigmented lips}, it applied a little blotchy and was just too frosty and translucent for my personal liking but hey, might work for someone else.
The packaging itself is a simple plastic casing in purple. It’s nothing fancy to shout about but I guess what matters is the actual quality of the lipstick so it didn’t bother me too much.

Application

These lipsticks are very soft and moisturising and do leave behind a soft gorgeous stain for the rest of the day {except Fancy, again, which just didn’t seem to want to work for me 🙁 }. This Moisture Renew range also has vitamins A, C and E to help care for lips while the new luxe packaging just makes it even more attractive.
As for color payoff, I would say two coats would be perfect. The color payoff of one coat is still pretty good and for some shades, you can get away with just one coat. The staying power was also better than I expected for such a moisturising formula. I did have to reply after having a drink or eating but that’s expected.

The Low Down On Each Shade

The obvious stand outs from the range for me are mostly in the 2nd half: Back to Fuchsia 310, As You Want Victoria 360, In Love With Ginger 660. These are the ones that I literally gasped and went “You have to look at this” to my not-so-interested husband. They are also pretty evident from the swatch pic – so incredibly vibrant with just one swatch. I also took a personal liking to Sloane’s Plum330 and Vintage Pink 180 {I do have a recent obsession with my purple and plum lippies}.. not forgetting Diva Red 500, your classy classic red lip; Notting Hill Nude 720, Camden Brown 780 and Piccadilly Pink 150 left good impressions on me too. Overall, I was quite impressed with how consistent this range was with its creamy and moisturising formula.
Have you picked any up so far?
Hope this helps anyone looking for swatches or a general impression of the entire range. If you’d like any further comments on a specific shade or would like to see a pic of a specific shade on my lips, please do ask!!
