Ah diapers. Our babies need them, but we also dread just how much that takes from our budgets. It’s almost a shocking statistic when you realize that babies can actually get through over 3,200 nappies a year! (Bet you didn’t realize your little bub could poop so much!) That easily translates to over $900 to $1000 a year just on nappies alone. And we haven’t even added the other changing essentials such as wipes, rash creams and so on.
Luckily, I found an alternative way to get nappies that is not only convenient but also affordable. As a matter of fact, you can save up to 20% and buy your baby’s nappies in bulk so that you can stock up for the three years that they’re going to need it. It’s kind of my secret that I’ve been sharing with family and friends and I realized I should probably write a post on it since I know many moms would find it helpful.

Here’s the thing: you can’t do without them. In fact, you can’t do without them for at least the first two to three years of your baby’s life. So face it, you’re going to need a lot of them. And the truth of the matter is that they don’t come quite so affordable. Especially not if you choose to buy them in stores like Walmart and Target, as anything remotely related to babies is sure to be overwhelmingly overpriced in these stores (yes, even if you have coupons).
The only way you’d be getting really affordable deals from the stores is if you opt for the non-branded, rash-inducing kinds that I bet you would never want to subject your baby to.
Of course, you don’t have the option of having your baby go commando as that is one surefire way to end up with poop all over the place, so they really are an expensive necessity. Cloth nappies are too messy and require a whole lot more energy to deal with, so it’s not really the best option either. If you’re thinking that it’s way too much to spend on something that just ends up in the trash bin, then you’re probably right.
But what if I told you that there is a much more affordable and convenient way to get diapers (or even overnight diapers) in bulk that won’t require you to get up and bring your crying baby to the store?
Why I Don’t Buy From Local Stores:
It’s a habit for most of us. Cut out and collect your coupons… and feel happy that you’re saving a bunch of money!
But are we, really?
The truth is, if you’re purchasing boxes from your local store like Target or Walmart… even if your so-called coupons, it’s still not the most affordable option. There is a better alternative and even better, you don’t even have to step out of your home to lug a box home.
Who Sells The Cheapest Diapers Online?
The alternative I’m talking about is to buy your baby’s nappies online. And with promos on sites like Amazon, you won’t have to worry about constantly heading out to the store to buy them because you can buy in bulk and stock up this way.
What Is Amazon Family?
Formerly called Amazon Mom (now renamed to reflect the changes in traditional gender roles of the new century), Amazon Family is a subcategory of the Prime membership that offers a lot of family-centered perks for moms and dads who need to stock up on the necessities for their babies and their family. You can save up to 20% on costs, among other benefits.
It’s pretty easy to sign up for a Family membership, and if you’re already a Prime member then you only need to add a child profile to turn your membership into an Amazon Family one.
The instructions are pretty simple, so even if you have ‘pregnancy brains’ or ‘mommy brains’ or ‘harrowed parent brains’, you’re sure to be able to follow them accordingly.
Prime memberships cost $99 per year of membership, but the first month is free. This means that you can enjoy all the benefits of an Prime membership with no strings attached. Cancel anytime (I doubt you’d want to after experiencing all the perks) or after the first month with no additional charges.
What Are The Benefits of Amazon Family?
It’s worth repeating this over and over as this is one of the best benefits of having an Amazon Family membership. You can save a lot with the membership alone that knocks off 15% from the cost of your baby’s nappies. And this is not just limited for diaper purchases, but anything family-related!
You can use coupon discounts on selected items (which change weekly) and these can pile up to increase the costs saved. Subscription services to your favorite brands and sizes can also give you a discount of up to 5%. These usually require you to buy multiple deliveries of two or more upfront, but the way I see it, you’re going to have to buy more anyway so this offsets any future costs.
You can get affordable dhuggies diapers and so many more brands and save more when you buy in bulk.
2. Time Saving
You don’t have to worry about getting ready to bring your family to the store as you can register and order on Amazon Family from the comforts of your home. With just a few clicks on your computer or mobile, you’re all set and all you have to do is wait for your deliveries to arrive.
Prime members can enjoy a 2 day (or less) delivery period, and subscriptions to things like diapers can be customized to be delivered monthly or periodically, depending on what schedule you set.
The cost is immediately taken from your registered payment method, and the delivery will arrive at your doorstep in no time.
You can also have the added benefits of show and music streaming, more than 800,000 ebooks, Amazon FreeTime, and other perks that come from being a Prime member. Amazon items that are marked Prime can be received within two days (or less!) of ordering them.
So there you have it, a cheap and truly convenient way to stock up on your baby’s nappies. It may seem too good to be true, but it’s good, and it’s true.
Diapers are a huge necessity, but you don’t have to go through all the trouble of spending way too much on them when you have the option to get them at a cheaper price.
So what are you waiting for? Head over to Amazon right now to sign up for an Amazon Family membership in order to be able to enjoy the many perks of being a Prime member and get 20% off. And you can even try it all out for a month, for free.
