Jurlique Baby’s Gentle Shampoo & Body Wash Review

(Last Updated On: July 19, 2018)

I’m back this week with another review of a baby shampoo/body wash product. Being a huge fan of Jurlique products and having not be disappointed by any of their products before, I did have huge expectations of their Jurlique Baby’s Gentle Shampoo & Body Wash.

Packaged in a thick bottle with a flip-top lid that pops open with the quick push of a button, I found it easy enough to use and dispense the amount I wanted. The bottle has very sleek contours that make it so easy to hold. Of course, I still usually prefer pump bottles which are just so much easier with a kids. With the smart flip-top lid though, it’s great for one-handed use which I’m happy enough with.

Other than that, everything is completely pleasing. The soothing, subtle scent of the Lavender Essential Oil never fails to fill the bathroom, easily ushering us into a calming end to the evening and prepping the little one for bedtime. With the little one’s ultra fine and frizzy hair, not many baby shampoos can perform up to task. This Jurlique one however, performs great. The texture is a little runny, lathers up really well and allows me to comb my fingers through her shampooed hair easily (this, believe me, does not happen regularly).

The absence of the whole “tear-free” tag that is so prevalent on so many baby shampoo/soap products should be pointed out. It says to “avoid eye area” instead. However, that really has not been a problem at all for us. I’m not sure how it would be with a younger child though.

As a body wash, it’s a very gentle, soothing and effective cleanser (its Soap Bark Tree ingredient helps with this) that is also very hydrating (thanks to Chamomile, Glycerin and Honey). The hydrating effect, in particular,  stays on and my little one’s skin feels really soft, supple and nourished.
