Update: Beside this Philips VisaPure Facial Cleansing Brush, Philips has since released a few more models in their range. Take a look here and find out more about the latest models.
I was very excited to give the Philips VisaPure Facial Cleansing Brush a try (you can get yours here) as I haven’t tried any cleansing brushes before. I’m not the most consistent with my skincare and cleansing, hence I never had too much interest in the cleansing brushes on the market. I have been making an effort recently and these days, I actually cleanse and wash off my make up every day just because I’m excited to use the Philips VisaPure!
This Philips VisaPure claims to be 10x more effective than hand cleansing. It also comes with 2 settings – a Gentle setting & Deep Cleansing setting. Every cycle goes for a total of 1 minute – split into three 20-second cycles separated by short pauses. Basically, you start on the right cheek area then move on to the left cheek area when the cycle pauses to signal you and then move on to the T-zone. A 6 hour charge gives you 30 minutes of cordless usage which is ample, given that you really only use it for a minute each time. As a first time user of cleansing brushes, it was really easy to use and I only had to browse briefly through the instructions once.
Benefits of the Philips VisaPure Facial Cleansing Brush:
– 10x more effective than hand cleansing
– Exfoliating: removes more dead skin cells than manual cleansing
– Absorption: improves absorption of skin care products
– Microcirculation: improves microcirculation for more radiant skin
The Philips VisaPure comes with 2 brush heads – a normal and a sensitive one. I started off with the normal one. My first go with it was great; it was easy to use, it was gentle on my skin and definitely did cleanse my face really well. However, I did feel a little dryness and tightness on my skin a few hours later (I have combination-dry skin to begin with) so I decided to use the sensitive brush head from then on. Perhaps it was also because my skin was just getting used to it. I haven’t gone back to the normal brush head since and I no longer feel any dryness or tightness on my skin.
This cleansing brush is also waterproof and suitable for use in the shower. I find this very convenient even though I have been mainly using it out of the shower. I have been using it once every night though it does say you can use it twice daily. I find it very effective in removing my make up too. I experimented one night removing my make up on my own then using the VisaPure and I was so impressed with how much further it actually cleaned my skin even after I thought I had already removed my make up.

The most significant improvement for me was diminished pores and definitely reduced blackheads. My skin just looks and feels so much smoother than before, making it a great base for any makeup. In fact, I actually find that my overall complexion looks much better sans makeup. I do have a habit of putting on at least a little makeup when I go out so I now find that I have to apply much lesser foundation as my skin tone is so much smoother and even.
Overall, I am really impressed with the Philips VisaPure and I definitely think it’s a worthy investment. Also, the brush head replacement retails for an affordable $19.95. The Philips VisaPure also comes with a 2 year warranty.
So to recap, the Philips VisaPure comes with:
– Philips VisaPure Facial Cleansing Brush
– 1 x Normal brush head
– 1 x Sensitive brush head
– A stand that doubles up as a charging base
The Philips VisaPure retails for $199 and you can get it from The Shaver Shop.
